After 33 years of service, Carl retired from the University of West Georgia in 2005. He is currently a part-time professor of Biology at the Univeristy of West Georgia and part time consultant in aquatic ecology.
Carl received Bachelor of Science and Master if Science degrees in Biology at Illinois State University and Ph.D. in Zoology at Michigan State University. In addition to his work with GWF, he has been involved in the conservation efforts of the Georgia Lake Society and the Georgia Bass Federation. His hobbies include fishing, collecting old fishing tackle, and birding.
